Flag City Water Systems Big-Blue Melt-Blown Poly Sediment filters are constructed with 4-layers of different micron ratings. The graded densities of layers capture particles throughout the entire cross section of the cartridge reducing surface binding or buildup.

That sediment buildup results in greater pressure drops and quicker replacement of the cartridge. The finer the particle the deeper through the surface of the cartridge it travels. Example: a 5 micron rated cartridge has these four layer densities - Inside layer - 5 micron, 2nd Layer - 10 micron, 3rd Layer - 25 micron, Outer Layer - 50 micron.

The Flag City Water Systems Big- Blue Sediment filters are made from 100% high purity polypropylene, have good chemical resistance are not prone to bacteria attack. They are available in 1, 5, 10 & 25 micron rates and come in 10 and 20 inch lengths.

Other features include: thermally bonded fibers will not migrate into water, filters available from 1 to 25 microns, broad chemical compatibility. Melt blown polypropylene cartridges offer a self-supporting, thermally fused filter media that requires no separate center support tube. No adhesives, binding agents or anti-static agents are used.
